This timeless Christmas charity continues its tradition of delivering gifts to those most in need.
The Lord Mayor of Canterbury’s Christmas Gift Fund is a unique charity that was established back in 1952. In the last 72 years, they have helped hundreds of individuals and families. The support from local people and businesses, such as housebuilder Redrow South East, has been immense.
It is a local charity, run by local people to benefit residents. Once again, this Christmas the Charity will distribute gifts in the name of the Lord Mayor of Canterbury to the elderly, isolated, vulnerable and individuals/families in need living in the Canterbury, Herne Bay and Whitstable areas. Redrow South East’s donation will contribute towards the purchase of these gifts.
The highlight of the charity will be the community carol singing in Rose Square Canterbury on Christmas Eve at 1815, attended by the Bishop of Dover, the Rt Revd Rose Hudson-Wilkin and the Lord Mayor of Canterbury, Cllr Jean Butcher.
Tony Loughran, Chair of the Lord Mayor of Canterbury’s Christmas Gift Fund said: ‘We are very grateful that Redrow is helping us fund our Christmas Gifts which will make an enormous difference for many residents this Christmas in the District of Canterbury.’
Stuart Galloway, Sales Director at Redrow South East, said: “Community plays a huge role in choosing where to live and at Redrow we believe in the importance of investing in the areas we build in. We are proud to play our part in supporting those in need, particularly around the festive season, through the Lord Mayor of Canterbury Christmas Gift Fund.”
Natalie Perry, Sales and Marketing Director at David Wilson Homes Kent, said “We are pleased to see that our donation will support those in the local Kent communities, especially at Christmas time when it can be really difficult for so many. Everyone at Christmas deserves to feel loved and supported so it is a real pleasure that we are able to help the charity achieve this. Supporting the local communities close to where we build new homes is important to us, as we are keen to build strong relationships with the locals that will last.”
The Lord Mayor of Canterbury Gift Fund is only a short drive away from Redrow’s The Hoplands development, home to a selection of modern four bedroom detached homes for sale currently starting from £455,000. The development is located on the outskirts of historic Canterbury and has excellent transport links for work and pleasure alike. Just a short drive from Canterbury, commuters can reach London on the train in under an hour. Also, coming to the area soon is Redrow’s Larchwood development, which will be home to plenty of green space, and is situated near a great selection of schools, shopping, leisure facilities and historical local attractions.
